While in Detroit, someone mentioned "The Heidelberg Project", what really peaked my interest "the streets are painted with polka dots"! Excuse me? I had to see this.
We sat with a fascinating sculptor at the wedding named Bob and he reassured me that Detroit's art scene is ripe with creativity. Man oh man, what an understatement. The Heidelberg Project is one of the greatest art experiences I've had in a long time.
"The Heidelberg Project offers a forum for ideas, a seed of hope, and a bright vision for the future. It's about taking a stand to save forgotten neighborhoods. It's about helping people think outside the box and it's about offering solutions. It's about healing communities through art - and it's working!
